To begin with, the label will promote Hassan aggressively, both in the commercial rock genre as well as in the Hindi film industry. Universal Music, that has been lying low for a while, plans to induct a slew of new artistes into its fold, in an attempt to ‘create new sound’. Universal now plans to cut solo albums with the song writer- singer star as well as get him into mainstream Hindi, including Bollywood.Īrk was one of the first bands to popularise rock music in Bangladesh, and Hassan is credited with being ‘pillar of Bangla rock’, says Universal’s newly inducted Vice President – Content Artiste and Repertoire Rajeeta Hemwani. This is probably the first time that a Bangladeshi artiste has been signed on for a long term contract by an Indian music label.
Part of a well known band Ark in the early nineties, Hassan went on to later form another band Jonmobhumi. Hassan, who has a formidable fan following in his home country, has been signed on by Universal on a three year contract. Hello if you like James from Bangladesh then there is another great news that one of the most talented popular Band star of Bangladesh, Hasan will sing in Bollywood soon.If you like to check his songs then the best collection i find is – Īs part of its label revamp, music major Universal has roped in Bangladesh’s renowned rock musician, Hassan. I’m quite amazed by the number of blogs with download links, even for the latest song without any concern of copyright issues. Not providing the download link of the song here. Ardent singing by both the singers lives up to the demands of the lyrics by Amitabh Verma, which brings out impressively the pathos of a jilted lover and disbelief that his lover is no longer in his life.Īs of now, I’ve heard this song only properly from the whole album, I’m sure there must be other good numbers worth repeated listening. This song is about lost love the unwilling acceptance of a forsaken lover and questions which arise in his mind as to why his beloved left him. The singer’s vocals change its tempo as the depressed feelings are highlighted with fast paced hard rock feel. KK shows his finesse once again and maintains his successful teamwork with Pritam in churning out the principal track of the film. This song got good reviews KK too got lotsa praises like this one : Compared to KK one, James’s version is more vehement right from the beginning. I prefer the beginning as the song gets bit noisy with heavy guitar interlude towards the end. The song starts off softly and builds up gradually. The song has two versions – Alvida and Alvida (reprise) sung by KK and Bangladeshi pop singer, James, respectively. I feel that Alvida has a slight resemblance to Bheegi Bheegi from Gangster and Chal chale from Woh lamhe. Considering the hugely popular Gangster from the same team of Anurag Basu and Pritam, this album carries some expectation of delivering good music again (plagiarized or otherwise ? )
Music by Pritam, the track Alvida from Life in a…Metro seems to be composed to match up to the flavor of the season – Rock-based tunes.
Time to write about a happening song or better “destined-to-be-happening” from a latest flick.
